MEET DR. SEMIRA
I began my medical career treating illness and injury once it had occurred. Over time, I became increasingly interested in what happens further upstream: how we prevent ill health, support people to stay well and create working environments that enable healthier lives.
That interest led me towards occupational and preventive health. Through my work, I’ve supported people navigating injury, illness and the demands of work, and seen first-hand how closely health and work can influence one another.
Sleep and fatigue, cardiovascular health, chronic disease, psychological health, movement, workplace culture and the way work itself is designed can all form part of that picture.
Today, I bring together medicine, prevention and workplace education to help organisations translate health evidence into practical action.
I work with leaders, People & Culture professionals, executives and teams through doctor-led education, workshops and strategic advisory — making complex health information understandable, relevant and applicable to the realities of modern work.
My aim is simple: to help build healthier people, healthier workplaces and more sustainable workforces.
THREE ELEMENTS SHAPE HER APPROACH
As a medical doctor with a focus on workplace health.
Through simple, memorable frameworks.
Through her warm, relatable delivery.
THE PURPOSE
In medicine, I see how deeply health and work influence one another — affecting wellbeing, identity, recovery and quality of life.
I also see that many leaders genuinely want to support their people, but don't always have the knowledge or tools to know what meaningful support looks like.
That’s the gap I want to help bridge.

FITNESS FOR WORK
Fitness for duties assessments are independent medical evaluations that help determine whether an employee can safely and effectively perform the inherent requirements of their role.
A Fitness for Duties Assessment involves a comprehensive review of a worker’s history, examination findings, relevant investigations, and details of previous and current management.
These assessments focus on the intersection between a person's health, their job demands, and workplace safety.
These assessments are thorough and essential in supporting informed decisions about a worker’s ability to return to safe and sustainable work.
A Fitness for Duties Assessment may require:
